"It was a dream come true for Ismael Argueta and his wife Elida Argueta to bring the original Mexican Cuisine taste to the Valley. With no other place around to find Latino food, Ismael started Taqueria El Nopal in June 1994 in Basalt, Colorado. Ismael knew wanted to delight the local Hispanics with their own food as well as bring the other cultures together. He feels very satisfied to see his vision come true. He traveled around the Pacific Coast of Vallarta Mexico and found the authentic flavor for the Taqueria. Elida also brings her original Mexican recepies into the menu. They opened the Glenwood Springs location in January 2000, and have been successful at delighting the locals and tourists with their unique taste. "
